Free Katamino tick sheets
When playing Katamino it adds to the fun if you can tick the puzzles off as you go. If a young person is playing, make sure that they know its cool to redo an earlier puzzle if they are finding a particular puzzle frustrating. Suggest they cross the puzzle out each time they do it because this will add to the fun and satisfaction with their own progress.
It would be a shame to spoil the nice ring bound printed instruction book that comes with Katamino by crossing out the puzzles so I've prepared these high resolution A4 tick sheets that you can print out. Download and print one for each player and they can track their progress.
The Small Slam
The Small Slam is the perfect starting place for anyone looking to enjoy Katamino. If you are a hardened puzzle addict over the age of fourteen you might want to skip straight to The Slam but if you do, you'll be missing out on this fun and satisfying initial challenge.

The Slam
The Slam is where the educational benefit of playing Katamino really starts to show. As you progress through the higher levels of the small slam and all of the levels of The Slam you find that you'll naturally start mentally picturing quite complex layouts of two, three and more pentominoes in order to fill in the remaining space on the board. This is the same spatial reasoning you need to develop to enjoy any physical design job ranging from making a cabinet or box right through to designing robots!
